My old PMR 446 Lafayette solution with schematics.
This schematics refer to the 462 Mhz Fsr version but except for the frequency, it's the same layout. This pmr has a 6 volt supply , a 5 hours charging time and a 14 hour standby time. It's cheap, easy and compact, no ctss. Effective coverage is 0.5 km inside Town with original antenna.
Changing the antenna is not legal in my country but can greatly duplicate coverage.
